Graceland celebrates Elvis Presley’s life and legacy

Elvis Presley Enterprises presents what is going to be a year-long celebration of the life and legacy of the greatest Rock ‘n Roll icon. Kicked off at the beginning of 2012, at the Graceland Mansion, the celebrations of the 35th anniversary on the death of Elvis include special events and numerous exhibits at the “king’s Castle”, and also a cruise from Jacksonville, Florida, to Nassau, at the Bahamas.

“Elvis on Tour”, an exhibition dedicated to the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of the award-winning documentary about “the King” opened to public at Graceland Crossing on January 5th. Opening March at Sincerely Elvis is the “Icon: The Influence of Elvis Presley”. This exhibition is all about Elvis’ work as a music pioneer and incomparable iconic figure. The theme commends above all Elvis’ influence on other composers and singers’ work throughout the world.

“Elvis … Through His Daughter’s Eyes”, the most awaited exhibition of all three, opened to public on February, is part of the Graceland VIP Tour. This exhibition is entirely dedicated to Elvis’ relationship with his only child Lisa Marie and includes a vast family photo gallery, home videos, movie memorabilia, father and daughter mementos and important artifacts from Lisa’s childhood. The Graceland VIP Tour also includes, for example, an audio-guided tour of the Graceland Mansion and 14 acre estate, and a Front of the Line Access to the Mansion.

Worldwide licensees and partners are also carrying out all sorts of events to celebrate this year – exhibitions, theme parties, launch of new merchandising products and souvenirs, promotions and, mainly, tours from all over the world to Graceland Mansion in Memphis, Tennessee.

One of the commissioners responsible for the event has already said that “2012 will be an exciting time to visit Graceland”.
