Harry Potter is going to Japan in 2014

In a global expansion of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Hogwarts is going to Japan.

After Orlando, Hollywood and London, in late 2014, and in partnership with Warner Bros. and Universal Parks & Resorts, Osaka will welcome the theme park. The wildly popular themed entertainment that started at Universal Orlando Resort nearly two years ago has now other homes throughout the world.

Governor of Osaka, Ichiro Matsui, was the guest of honour at the announcement, which also hosted more than a hundred excited fans dressed in Harry Potter who screamed with delight when the announcement was made.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Japan is the result of the creative teamwork and efforts of Universal Studios Japan in conjunction with Warner Bros., which produced the Harry Potter films, and Universal Parks & Resorts, which oversees Universal Studios theme parks, hotels and resorts around the world.

Just as in Orlando, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Japan will, as faithfully and authentically as possible, bring to life the stories created by J.K. Rowling. The theme park will replicate Hogwarts atmosphere and sceneries.

The theme park at Universal Studios Japan is expected to make a significant impact on tourism in both the Osaka/Kansai region and the entire country, as well as it has in the US or London, and is also expected to create thousands of new jobs and bring economic benefits throughout Japan for decades to come.
